The sleuths of Income Tax Department’s investigation wing Jabalpur on Tuesday raided Upcharya Hospital in Chhindwara and unearthed unreported transactions of over Rs 40 lakh, after checking the accounts and relevant documents of the hospital.
Investigation details
The team conducted the raid after receiving information regarding irregularities in hospital accounts. Sources revealed that after scrutinising the accounts, the officials detected around Rs 40 lakh worth of unreported transactions. The hospital management was interrogated during the search and explanations were sought regarding the unaccounted transactions.
Further proceedings
After documentation and preliminary investigation, the officials have now initiated the process of recovery. They are likely to summon the hospital administration again for further questioning and clarifications about the source and usage of the unreported funds.
